Using Excel 2003 in Windows.

Got a Dashboard set-up working well.

Before I launched it out for review, I protected the spreadsheet (it's interactive so i can't do a pdf conversion).

On the sheet I have 2 microcharts, one icon-based and the other a pareto graph both based on formulae the result of which changes depending on which month you pull from a drop-down box.

Irrespective of which combination of protection variables I use, one updates the other does not. The problematic icon graph will not update unless the sheet is unprotected. I am unwilling to release this to users without protection. Any ideas?

You have to set the cell protection to unlocked for all cells that contain MicroCharts,
otherwise MicroCharts cant be updated.

Ok - I get that thanks.

Only problem now is that some of the icon charts are green tick if the source data is positive and red cross if negative.

When sheet protected I can get the charts to work as explained in your reply but the colours set up in chart format don't update even thogh the tick/cross does.

Any ideas?
