Flickering on Excel

Hi, I'm placing about 10 MicroCharts on a worksheet and they depend on cells obtained from market data sources that are implemented as a DDE server and/or a COM addin.

With these charts, flickering can be observed due to unnecessary redrawing of entire sheet and a part of status bar, where zoom related controls are located.

In addition to this visual problem, it interferes with my Excel operations too. For example, when you copy a cell, the cell is marked as being copied and indicated as such, but it reverts to normal state whenever the flickering happens. That way, I can't move on to, say, a paste operation.

These artifacts aren't observed while MicroCharts design mode is on. However, it isn't a satisfying solution because I will have to use MicroCharts in design mode all the time.

I am wondering if this is how the MicroCharts is supposed to work by design or something is just wrong with my PC, my usage and so on.

Any help would be appreciated.

Excel sheet protection

Using Excel 2003 in Windows.

Got a Dashboard set-up working well.

Before I launched it out for review, I protected the spreadsheet (it's interactive so i can't do a pdf conversion).

On the sheet I have 2 microcharts, one icon-based and the other a pareto graph both based on formulae the result of which changes depending on which month you pull from a drop-down box.

Irrespective of which combination of protection variables I use, one updates the other does not. The problematic icon graph will not update unless the sheet is unprotected. I am unwilling to release this to users without protection. Any ideas?

Error message at start/boot

Error message on boot up

Excel UI initialization does not work properly.
Save all workbooks and contact Microchart support

Environment
WinXP SP3
Office 2003

No workbooks are open, of course, because this error occurs (persistently and consistently and in every instance of start or restart) on boot or start up. I cannot capture the screen because my screen capture program has not started when the message appears. Very frustrating. Advice/suggestions/fix much appreciated.

Microcharts Premium: PPT / Word 2007 - where to find it?

Hi,

after having some trouble with Microcharts in Excel 2007 (after some MS Security Updates two weeks ago) I got it now back to work as expected (automatic load at startup, no error messages etc.).

But there is one thing I'm missing: Where to find the Microcharts "support" in MS Word 2007 / MS Powerpoint 2007? I have a Microcharts Premium license - but I can't find any function like "inser Microcharts" or whatever in Word or Powerpoint.

Please advise...

malfuntioning graphs

When I first open a file with Microcharts the graphs look fine, but after calculating they flatten out and no longer trend the data points (just a straight line).

I've tried uninstalling and resinstalling but to no avail...

Excel 2007 Ribbon

Just upgraded to 2007 and for the life of me I cannot see how to create a new chart with chart tamer. The ribbon only has three buttons: Color Picker, Format Borders & Chart Defaults. There is no way (that I can see) to create a new chart or to initiate the chart picker.

I am sorry if this is a noob question but I am stumped.

Sparkline limits

Are there built in limits to how many data points can be used in a sparkline?

I have had some inconsistent, buggy behaviour in Excel 2007 trying to use around 300 data points in a CMicroLine(). Sometimes they work but are hard to edit and sometimes nothing at all appears.

A related question is how does the CMicroLine() function handle changing the width of the sparkline using the AspectRatio parameter? When I compare sparklines with different ratios it looks like rather than simply changing the ratio, the function is dropping data points which is not the behaviour I was hoping for.

Pareto chart

I am trying to create a pareto chart similar to the Pareto chart sample. I create the chart ok but I am having a problem getting the bars to be different colors. I have tried changing the color values using the menu and in the formula. I can only get the bars to be one color. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks!

DIsable Background in Bullet Chart

Is there a way to not have the background show on a bullet chart if the measured value goes to zero. Or in other words not have the performance measures or benchmark show if the measured value is zero.

charts with empty rows

I'm trying to use BulletGraph to generate a bunch of bullet graphs in a report that has some blank rows. The bullet graphs should not show up in the blank rows.

I tried using conditional formatting to hide them, but couldn't come up with a format that makes them invisible. I also tried generating the bullet graphs on a separate sheet and referencing them from my report sheet, but they don't appear properly on my report sheet. I'm hoping to avoid separate calls to BulletGraph for each section of my report. Any ideas?

Printing Line Charts cause Excel to crash

Hello, I am new to the forum, I've been hearing positive feebacks about microcharts and maybe the company I work for would be interested with your product.

I have downloaded the demo version to get a feel before we consider buying the product and I encountered some problems during the trial.

As I try to print microline charts my excel crash and ask me if I want to recover. We are using office 2003 with windows XP including SP2.

Printing the microcolumns charts works perfectly tho. Is there anything that must be installed in addition that I forgot?

Cell width

I have cells that have a certain width(9)
My microline however is about 14 wide.
Can I change the microline so it fits in a cell with a width of 9?

Run-time error 9: Subscript out of range

I'm a very new user, and just tried to install MicroCharts for Excel on my machine. it seemed to install just fine, but i get the error message i indicated above in the Message Subject.

Any ideas what's going on, and how I may remedy this?
